The 15th Guangzhou International Emergency & Safety Expo concluded at the Canton Fair Complex. Electrical fire protection technology was the hottest topic at this year's event.
CHILION exhibited three core products: AFCP Fire Control Patch (no power, no network — activates when temperature rises), EAPD Active Protection Device (16 sensors + AI analysis + automatic suppression), and ICOP Smart Platform (remote unified alert management). The physical display of the AFCP patch's 2mm thickness and EAPD's magnetic mounting attracted significant attention from energy storage and wind power professionals.
During the expo, CHILION held technical exchanges with multiple energy storage system integrators and wind power maintenance companies. Many visitors showed strong interest in the EAPD+ICOP combination — local suppression plus remote management saves labor costs.
CHILION has successfully integrated AFCP fire suppressant material with polymer substrates, using injection molding to produce busbar-specific fire protection sleeves — turning AFCP patch micro-capsule technology into custom-shaped protection.
Traditional busbar protection relies on fire-retardant tape or paint. These only slow fire spread — they can't extinguish it. CHILION's protection sleeve is different — it contains AFCP fire suppressant material. When temperature reaches 140°C (AFCP trigger temperature), the micro-capsules in the sleeve rupture and fluorine shield clean agent is automatically released, directly extinguishing the initial fire source on the busbar surface.
Installation is simple. Modular design — just slide onto the busbar. No power outage needed, no adhesive, no specialized technician. Suitable for distribution panel busbars, busway joints, cable tray connections, and more.
This is essentially a variant of the AFCP patch — the patch is universal (stick anywhere), while the sleeve is custom-shaped for busbars, offering better fit and more precise protection. Currently in trial production.
CHILION officially launches a PCB-level protection solution based on AFCP micro-capsule technology. Simply put: micron-scale fire suppressant granules placed right next to circuit board heat sources — when temperature rises abnormally, they activate automatically.
In instruments, communications equipment, and industrial controllers, internal space is extremely limited. Traditional fire suppression devices simply can't fit. Yet these confined spaces are precisely where component failure can burn an entire board, writing off the whole device.
CHILION's solution: micron-scale fire suppressant granules using the same AFCP micro-capsule technology — granules are micron-sized, can be embedded directly on PCB surfaces or near heat-generating components. No impact on circuit performance, no extra space required. When temperature rises abnormally, the micro-capsules rupture, releasing clean agent to protect precision circuits.
The suppressant is fluorine shield clean agent — ODP zero, non-conductive, non-corrosive, residue-free. It won't damage circuit boards or affect adjacent component operation.
The National Fire Department has released the "Technical Guideline for Electrical Fire Prevention and Control (Draft for Comments)" for public consultation. The guideline addresses fire suppression technology applications in distribution cabinets and energy storage scenarios, emphasizing early warning and active protection.
CHILION's EAPD Active Protection Device — with its multi-sensor real-time monitoring and local AI-based active suppression — aligns with the guideline's recommended direction. Public comment period ends August 25, 2026.
CHILION achieves a new milestone in AFCP clean fire suppressants — micron-scale fire suppressant granules have completed their first production line and entered mass production.
These micro fire suppressant granules use micro-capsule coating technology, encapsulating fluorine shield (Perfluoro(2-methyl-3-pentanone), C₆F₁₂O) in micron-scale capsules. When ambient temperature reaches the trigger threshold, the capsule shell ruptures and the agent is released. ODP=0, GWP=1 environmental properties, residue-free after discharge, non-conductive and non-corrosive.
The granular form's advantage: unlike patches which have shape constraints, granules can be flexibly embedded inside various electrical devices. A few grains inside precision instruments, scattered inside communication cabinets, filling gaps between battery modules — anywhere there's space.
Initial production will supply precision electronics, communication base stations, and new energy storage applications. Together with AFCP patches and injection molded sleeves, they form CHILION's complete fluorine shield fire suppression product matrix.
Industry data shows sustained growth in demand for electrical safety protection products. New energy storage and industrial distribution scenarios are growing fastest — both characterized by dense equipment, unattended operation, and mandatory fire protection requirements.
CHILION's EAPD device and AFCP patch cover active monitoring and passive suppression technology paths respectively, directly addressing storage and distribution scenario requirements. EAPD provides active monitoring and suppression in storage sites, while AFCP sticks inside distribution cabinets for low-cost passive backup.
CHILION AFCP (AFCP Fire Control Patch) — brand Flourguard, is CHILION's core product. Simply put, it is a 2mm-thick patch that sticks inside electrical equipment and automatically releases fire suppressant when temperature reaches 140°C.
The technical principle is straightforward: fluorine shield agent is micro-encapsulated and mixed into a flexible substrate to form the patch. At room temperature, capsules remain stable and leak-free. When temperature hits approx. 140°C (tolerance ±10°C), the capsule walls rupture and the agent is automatically released. Pure physical mechanism — no external power, sensors, or controllers required. One patch is an integrated self-contained fire suppression unit.
The key difference from traditional fire solutions: cabinet-based gas systems require smoke detection → fire confirmation → system activation, creating a time window large enough for fire to spread. AFCP patches stick directly next to the heat source — they activate the moment temperature rises, with no intermediate steps.
Each standard patch covers approximately 0.6m³ of enclosed space. 2mm thin, adhesive backing — sticks on without taking up space or altering equipment structure. After activation, the housing is retained — only the internal core needs replacement. Replaceable-core design keeps maintenance costs low.
Applications: distribution cabinets, switchgear, energy storage battery compartments, data center server cabinets, EV charging stations — most enclosed electrical equipment benefits from AFCP protection.
CHILION's ICOP Smart Platform is about to release V3.0. The new version adds mobile push notifications and AI risk prediction, improving electrical safety management convenience and intelligence.
V3.0 strengthens multi-device collaboration — data sync across computer, mobile, and large screens. Managers can see the real-time status of all EAPD devices whether in the control room or on the road. Alerts are tiered: general anomalies to duty staff, confirmed fires simultaneously to safety supervisors.
Standard API interfaces are also available for integration with certain third-party devices. ICOP currently connects to EAPD devices, AFCP patches (trigger status logging), and select third-party sensors.
Flourguard FLOURGUARD is the brand name for CHILION's AFCP patches. Flexible design conforms to cable joints, terminal blocks, busbar connections, and other irregular surfaces — covering hard-to-reach areas that traditional fire suppression cannot address.
The patch requires no external systems whatsoever. No wiring, no programming, no configuration. Installation is peel-and-stick. Once applied, the patch remains continuously ready — day and night, because it doesn't need electricity.
Field-tested in wind power converter cabinets, energy storage containers, and solar inverters. Stable performance in outdoor conditions (high heat, low temperature, humidity, salt spray) — a low observed false-trigger rate in CHILION field tests.
Flourguard patches are available in multiple sizes and specifications. From micro square patches (60×60×2mm, fitting standard 86-type outlet boxes) to large-coverage formats — choose according to your needs.

Electrical safety is shifting from "put out fires after they start" to "manage risks before they happen." CHILION's EAPD Active Protection Device + ICOP Smart Platform is designed for exactly this.
What EAPD does: installed inside distribution cabinets, it collects real-time data from multiple sensors (temperature, smoke, CO, combustible gas, infrared flame), performs local AI cross-validation, reduces single-sensor false alarms, and upon confirmed fire detection, releases fluorine shield agent in milliseconds. From detection to suppression — completed locally without network dependencies.
What ICOP does: all EAPD device data is centralized in the cloud. Managers open the mobile app or web dashboard and see the real-time status of every distribution point. Alerts are tiered — general anomalies go to duty staff, confirmed fires simultaneously notify safety supervisors.
ICOP also handles event logging: each alert's timestamp, sensor readings, and suppression action are automatically archived — valuable for periodic safety reports and emergency plan optimization.
Coverage: wind, solar, storage, distribution, data center. Multi-platform access via web, mini-program, and WeChat official account.
With the advancement of new power systems, ultra-high voltage transmission, new energy storage, and distributed solar are all developing rapidly. Demand for electrical safety protection is growing alongside.
Wind power: converter cabinets and tower control cabinets operate outdoors long-term with infrequent inspections. EAPD devices installed inside provide real-time monitoring, with ICOP platform providing remote status overview.
Energy storage: battery compartments have dense module layouts with high thermal runaway risk. EAPD performs detection and suppression within each battery cluster, with ICOP unified across the entire site.
Power distribution: substation cabinets are dense with equipment — traditional fire suppression can't reach inside cabinets. AFCP patches provide one-per-cabinet protection, while EAPD devices add active monitoring.
CHILION offers tailored electrical safety solutions for four key scenarios — wind, storage, distribution, and data center — with flexible combinations of EAPD, AFCP, and ICOP products.
Guangzhou CHILION Technology Development Co., Ltd. officially launched the "CHILION" electrical safety brand, introducing three core products: AFCP Fire Control Patch, EAPD Active Protection Device, and ICOP Smart Platform.
CHILION originated from GD Guandian Technology's safety division and now operates independently, focusing on active electrical protection. The logic behind the three products is clean: AFCP handles passive suppression ("stick it and forget it"), EAPD provides active monitoring and suppression ("detect-decide-suppress all in one"), and ICOP delivers cloud-based unified management ("one dashboard for everything").
The launch showcased solutions for wind power, energy storage, power distribution, and data center scenarios. The three products can be deployed independently or combined — EAPD+ICOP for active monitoring plus cloud management, with AFCP as cost-effective supplementary protection.
New energy storage, data centers, and precision equipment rooms impose strict requirements on fire protection: no secondary damage to equipment, no dependency on external power, must be deployable in enclosed spaces.
Traditional fire solutions choose between sprinkler and gas systems. Sprinklers on electrical equipment make things worse. Gas systems require smoke alarm coordination — by the time they activate, the fire may have already spread.
Passive activation and clean agents have become the industry mainstream direction. CHILION's AFCP patch takes the passive route — 140°C pure physical activation, no power needed. Fluorine shield agent is ODP-zero, non-conductive, non-corrosive. The EAPD device takes the active route — multi-sensor monitoring + local AI analysis + automatic suppression. Two paths cover different scenario needs, complementary not conflicting.
Flourguard FLOURGUARD and ordinary generic perfluorocarbon (Novec 1230) fire-control patches differ not in the extinguishing agent — both use Novec 1230 — but in the precision control of the microcapsule encapsulation process.
Wall thickness precision. Flourguard microcapsule wall thickness is controlled within ±1.5μm, while generic patches typically have a wall tolerance of ±3–5μm or more. Wall-thickness precision directly determines trigger-temperature stability — the more uniform the wall, the more consistent the trigger temperature across batch production.
Payload ratio. Flourguard's payload ratio (extinguishant weight as a share of total patch weight) is ≥78%, meaning a given-size patch carries more agent. Generic patches are usually around 60%–70%, requiring a larger patch for the same released amount.
Trigger-temperature accuracy. Flourguard triggers at 140±10°C, while generic patches are typically rated 140±20°C or wider. For precision electrical equipment, a ±10°C tolerance means more reliable protection — no false trigger during normal temperature rise, no delay when action is truly needed.
These three metrics combine to determine one core issue — reliability. Electrical-fire protection is unlike ordinary firefighting: a false trigger's downtime and business-interruption cost is extremely high. Flourguard's process precision delivers consistency — every patch in a batch has its trigger temperature, release amount, and response time within a controlled range, not "roughly about right."
They also differ in appearance. Flourguard has a smooth surface and neat edges, with no overflow or bubbles; generic patches, limited by encapsulation process, may show uneven surfaces or burrs. For distribution and control cabinets with flatness requirements, Flourguard adheres more tightly, with no loss of effective coverage area from deformation.
One easily overlooked point: shelf life. Under standard storage (cool, dry, dark), Flourguard patches keep a longer shelf life because the microcapsule sealing is better, so natural permeation loss of the agent during long storage is lower. Generic patches, if storage is not well controlled, may show a noticeable drop in payload without warning — by the time a trigger is actually needed, the agent amount may already be reduced.
In short, the core difference between Flourguard and generic Novec 1230 patches is not "what material," but "to what precision the material is made." In electrical safety — a field that tolerates no "roughly" — a micron-level process gap is the difference between a firewall and a gap.
CHILION Technology announced today that the AFCP series adds a new D-model — Flourguard FLOURGUARD® Liquid Shield, a microcapsule fire-suppressant coating, with the 1KG pail launched first. Targeted at electrical-fire hazard points such as distribution cabinets, busbar enclosures, and cable interlayers, it covers the irregular and narrow gaps that AFCP patches cannot fully reach; the 5KG engineering size will follow later.
The AFCP F/A/P/D/M patches excel at covering flat surfaces and short curved faces, but industrial busbar enclosures, rear-wall bolt groups in cabinets, and bottoms of switch inserts are small and oddly shaped, with high cutting waste for patches. Liquid Shield exists as a coating — a brush reaches any curved surface, completing the roughly 20% of irregular areas patches miss, forming a "patch + liquid" complementary system with patches; overall fire-protection cost drops about 15%–25% versus patches alone.
Liquid Shield uses the same clean agent as AFCP patches, Novec 1230 (ODP=0, GWP=1, no secondary damage to precision circuits), encapsulated in the coating via microcapsule structure. Each micron-scale capsule seals leak-free at room temperature; above 140°C the shell ruptures and the agent releases instantly — equivalent to brushing countless miniature AFCP units onto the cabinet wall. It breaks on fire, suppresses on break, with no power, detector, or cylinder linkage required.
The currently launched 1KG size shares the same agent and trigger mechanism as the later 5KG. Applied mainly by brush, in two layers of about 0.5mm each, with a dry-film total thickness of about 1mm; the substrate must be de-rusted and de-oiled (wipe with isopropanol or acetone), applied at 5–35°C, relative humidity ≤85%. Coverage reference: 1KG two coats about 1.5–2.5㎡; after the 5KG size launches, about 8–12㎡.
The coating naturally solidifies over time; storage hinges on "sealing" and "shade". After each use, tighten the lid and expel as much air as possible; store in a cool, dry, dark place, away from heat and direct sunlight. Well sealed, it keeps long-term; if left open or exposed to high heat and sun, the surface skins and dries like paint and is ruined. Use up soon after opening; keep the lid tight between applications.
Liquid Shield fits distribution boxes, elevator shafts, socket boxes, distribution cabinets, busbar enclosures, cable interlayers, and storage battery compartments. It can be ordered together with EAPD devices and AFCP patches, or purchased per pail for local retrofit trials. Sealed original pails keep 12 months; the 1KG size is in regular supply.
